Making a Difference in Our Community

We Believe in Green

As the City of Green was transitioning from a township to a city, a group of community leaders decided there was a need for the City of Green to have its own chamber of commerce rather than be included in the Barberton South Summit Chamber of Commerce.  With the blessing of Joe Fazek from Barberton South Summit Chamber and lots of hard work and dedication by Joanne Zaratsian, Chamber Executive, Barb Holdren, Secretary and the Board of Directors, the chamber started hosting luncheons.  Attendance and support was fabulous and funds began to accumulate.  While the funds were accumulating the board was assembling the bylaws and governance structure.  Then in 2000 the Green Chamber was incorporated and became a recognized nonprofit (Tax EIN 34-1931612).

The first Board of Directors included many community faces we still see today, Kevin Cavalier, Mayor Dan Croghan, Jeff Evans, Donn Force, John Goldsberry, Jeanne Grecco, John Lund, Josie McElroy, John Menches, Paul Miller and Jeff Mills.

Today the Green Area Chamber is supported by sole proprietors to large corporations to nonprofits who are all interested in the same thing – growing business and supporting our community.
