Our topic will be Lithium Ion Battery Safety, and our speaker will be Nic Zamiska. The session provides a comprehensive overview of batteries in transportation, commercial, industrial, and residential settings. Participants review several case studies and best practices, to make safe and calculated decisions in an emergency response setting. The focus is on lithium batteries, electric vehicles, and battery energy storage systems. Nick Zamiska has been in the fire service for 22 years, currently serving as the Chief of Fire with the Brecksville Fire Department in Brecksville, Ohio. Nick is a Team Leader for the Cuyahoga County Type 1 Hazmat/WMD Team.
